Bockwurst, sauerkraut, beer and
wine. And the typically expertly built houses, Christmas markets,
Kneipe and Schlager music. All of the things we associate with
Germany. But there’s lots more: plenty of opportunities
for relaxation, culture, or just getting out in the nature,
enjoying the historical cities and varied countryside. The diverse
scenery and culture offer plenty of possibilities! Germany is
extremely suitable for an active holiday and has no fewer than
forty thousand kilometres of cycle routes and many wonderful
walking routes. But it's also a country for winter activities,
with the German Alps, the Black Forest and Bayern. The Beieren
region is diverse and hospitable. Drive down the “Deutsche
Alpenstrasse” for instance or visit the fairytale castle
at Neuschwanstein. Don’t forget the many culinary events
including the famous “Oktoberfest” in Munich. The
Eifel is also a very interesting region and great for an active
holiday. Enjoy the wonderful countryside here, with woods and
volcanic lakes. Visit Trier, the oldest town in the country.
In short: Germany is ideal for both long and short holidays,
and really not far away!
